Our Treviso car rental is located in the Rent-A-Car building at Treviso airport. Leaving the Arrivals gate, just walk 50 meters to reach us.
The Locauto car park is located about 200 meters from the rental office and can be reached on foot. Leaving the airport, take the tunnel on the left and continue straight. The parking entrance is on the right.
Leaving the highway A27, take the exit "Treviso Sud" and follow the signs "Airport" (Do not confuse the signs with the airport of Venice); therefore, arrived near the airport area of Treviso, simply follow the signs "Car" - "Car Rental" and then follow the signs Locauto.
Treviso’s very ancient history is strongly interconnected with the one of the Republic of Venice, which annexed it in the Middle Ages, granting it ever since peace and prosperity. The Venetians left their mark on Treviso’s architecture: the most eye-catching example of this is the city’s ancient defensive system, which comprises the city walls (destroyed by the Second World War bombings but now under reconstruction) and the three richly decorated city gates. Treviso is quite a tranquil city, so if you are not a great fan of crowds, like the ones you find in Venice or Verona all year round, this is exactly the place for you. It is also a very small city and it can be visited in about a day or two. Its core is constituted by the old town square, called Piazza Dei Signori, where you will find the Palazzo Dei Trecento, the building where the town council used to gather during the Middle Ages. The medieval treasure of this city also comprises the Cathedral, built on the foundation of an early Christian temple in a Romanesque fashion and comprising a very famous painting by Tiziano, The Annunciation. A very magical spot in Treviso is constituted by the old fish market square, circled by a network of canals where you can lose yourself watching the reflection of ancient water mills. At this point you will be definitely hungry, so why not stopping at some restaurant nearby and trying Treviso traditional dishes? We especially recommend you fried mozzarella cheese with anchovies and sopa coada, a pigeon pie served with broth and, as a dessert, the most famous Venetian dessert of all: tiramisu.
If you are in Treviso, you definitely cannot (and will not) avoid tasting some of the wines that are made in this territory, which comprise 6 DOCG and 6 DOC wine labels. A whole range of rare whites, reds and pinks are waiting to be discovered and what’s better than a wine tasting tour on the Euganean hills around Treviso to do that? Rent a car in Treviso and start your wine-discovery journey in Veneto region: not only will you be able to taste Veneto’s most famous product in its original environment, but you will get to explore the artistically, historically and naturally bountiful countryside around Treviso, where loads of little ancient hamlets, with gorgeous churches, castles and parks await for you. Some of these places, like Borghetto sul Mincio, almost look like as if time had stopped still: the outlines of ancient water mills along the banks of river Mincio are the perfect company for you to relive the atmosphere of times gone by. You will fall in love with Burano’s colourful little houses and never want to leave Chioggia’s canals, and yet, once again, you will turn again towards the road, eager to discover more and more places in the beautiful Venetian countryside. Locauto will stand by your side as your travel consultant, arranging for you the best rental plan to travel all throughout the province of Treviso and beyond with your friends, fiancée or family in comfort and ease: check out our fleet and book now to secure the deal!
The ‘Antonio Canova’ Treviso airport stands about 6 kilometres away from the city centre: you can get there in around 15 minutes by car or 20 by public transport. Treviso airport is a very convenient landing location for anyone willing to get to Padua or Venice with a rental car, which will allow you to cut on transfer times and to devise tailor-made routes, possibly choosing a less central – thus cheaper – accommodation. Treviso lies within a circle of Medieval city walls. Its centre is constituted by Piazza Dei Signori, whose most famous landmarks are Palazzo Dei Trecento and the elegant Knights’ Loggia.
The two rivers Sile and Cagnano create breathtaking waterways that run through the streets full of arcaded houses, making Treviso look like a Little Venice.
Treviso culinary tradition includes DOP products such as Treviso red chicory and many DOC/DOCG wines, like the world famous Prosecco. A typical dish is risi e bisi, a risotto with peas.
The territory around Treviso offers many interesting destinations as far as leisure activities are concerned: the beaches of Jesolo and Caorle, the Dolomites and, of course, Venice.
