Getting to our car rental office in Milan is very simple: if you are heading here from Malpensa or Linate airport, you can get a shuttle bus or express train to the central railway station and then take the underground green line up to Romolo station. You will have to walk just a few metres away to find us on Viale Liguria.
Our parking is located right in front of the rental office.
When booking your car, either at our office or online, you will get to decide which office to return your car to. Usually you can also make different arrangements with our staff.
Travelling to Milan can sometimes become a very expensive trip, not only because of the seductive allure of its many shops and boutiques, but also because of the prohibitive price of accommodation and food. If you cannot give up on opening your window every morning on the awe-inspiring view of Milan’s Gothic Dome or Sforza Castle, then you should expect such high expenses. But if, on the contrary, you feel like you would rather save on accommodation and assign more budget to exploring the city and its surroundings, while also enjoying Milan’s truly authentic spirit, then we suggest you taking into consideration the area that stretches from the south-west city gate of Milan (Porta Ticinese) to the borough of Assago. Rich in monuments, large green areas, tiny cute bars and fancy traditional restaurants, the southwest area of the city arises all around the Naviglio Grande, the most famous canal in Lombardy, culminating in the Porta Ticinese dock, known as Darsena among the locals, which is one of most lively areas in Milan as far as night life is concerned. From here, you can either choose to transfer to the city centre or to the external areas of Milan, Lombardy and the neighbouring region of Piedmont in a reasonable amount of time.
Renting a car in the southwestern neighbourhood of Milan will allow you explore both the city centre and the surroundings of Milan with the outmost freedom of movement and schedule your trips even last minute. Our car rental office is located near “Romolo” underground station, which is very close to the ring road that surrounds the whole city centre and that will connect you to the main motorways in northern Italy in no time at all. In this residential area, you will not have to face big traffics jams and have fewer issues in finding a free parking lot. Our renting fees will of course vary accordingly to the length of your stay and the car range: we have budget options for solo travellers who may settle for more compact, swift city cars, but also suitable vehicles for couples, big families or travellers who carry bulky luggage, including sports equipment. You can also decide to equip your car with a sat nav if you think your mobile data coverage or speed is insufficient.
As you may already know from your previous travels here or from your online readings, getting around in Milan can be very tricky sometimes, especially if you are venturing past the gateways of Milan city centre, where you are sure to encounter solid traffic jams. Two restricted areas are now active in Milan: the narrower one (Area C), comprising the old town centre, can only be entered with a daily, weekly or monthly pass; the larger one (Area B), delimited by the city’s great ring road, can be freely accessed by all environmental-compliant cars, which all vehicles in Locauto fleet are. If you are travelling outside Milan using motorways, you can pay tolls using a European electronic toll collection device, cash or credit cards.
