How to fit snow chains?
Fitting snow chains might be difficult and inconvenient, but it is necessary to ensure maximum safety when driving on snowy roads.
In this guide we show you how to fit them correctly in 4 very simple steps:
- Lay the chains on a flat surface to make sure there are no tangles that would prevent or impair their installation, and then place them on the ground near the vehicle’s drive wheels.
- Proceed by wrapping the tire with the chains making sure that the two ends of the rigid support touch each other and then be locked in place using the appropriate latch.
- Once all the chain components are hooked up and the links are properly arranged on the wheel surface, simply pull on the colored cable to tighten the chains so that they adhere as tightly as possible to the tire.
- If, after fitting, the chains are not perfectly tight, simply move the car just enough to spin the wheels and pull the colored cable again to allow more grip on the tire.
