Leaving the Gate of national and international Arrivals, follow the signs "Rent-a-car" or "Autonoleggi" in the inside terminal. The Locauto offices are located on level -1 in the car rental area. If you land at Terminal 2, take the free shuttle connecting Terminal 2 to Terminal 1 (frequency from 7 to 30 minutes, according to the timetable). Arrived at Terminal 1, you can find the Locauto offices in the car parking area on level -1. Our staff are ready to welcome you and to deliver you the best service.
Locauto parking is located within the structure of Terminal 1, under the Sheraton hotel, a 5-minute walk from the rental office.
To return the vehicle, once you enter the Malpensa airport area, follow the signs for "Rent-a-car" or "Autonoleggi" and then the Locauto Rent signs.
If you’re travelling to northern Italy from abroad, Milan-Malpensa airport will probably be your arrival point. This airport consists of two different terminals, designed to serve distinct flight companies: unless you travel with EasyJet, you will take off and touch down at terminal 1, where is also located our car rental office. Be wise as to book your car prior to travelling to Milan, otherwise we won’t be able to grant you the exact car model you’re asking for; moreover, booking your car online will allow you to cut down on time and be ready to immediately get to your destination as soon as you land at Malpensa airport.
Milan Malpensa is located right next to a high speed highway whence you can get to Milan city centre or almost anywhere else in northern Italy or southern Switzerland in a decent amount of time. Street connections are really good, while the train network is a little crooked all around Milan, so renting a car in Milan Malpensa will avoid you getting stuck in the middle of nowhere and not being able to do or see everything you had planned to during your time in Italy. When you rent a car from us, remember you can use as much gas as you wish to as long as you remember to refuel your car to the same level it had upon picking it up. We suggest you to refill your tank within a 10 miles distance from the airport.
Headed towards the city centre? Then you will find out there is a plenty of things to do in Milan both during the day and at night. Milan is probably one of the best cities in Italy as far shopping is concerned, offering a varied choice of small vintage boutiques, sparkling shopping centres and exclusive Italian and international designer shops. All your shopping bags will fit splendidly into your rented car’s trunk and be safely returned to your hotel without requiring you to elbow your way through the crowd squeezing into the underground and onto busses: Milan can be a very stressful city if you travel by public transport!
In case you’re in Milan for just a few hours, make sure to visit the city centre: you will be bewitched by the timeless allure of its awesome monuments, churches and historical palaces like the Duomo and the nearby Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, which is both the oldest shopping mall in town and an outstanding example of XIX century Italian architecture. Enjoy a stroll here and lose yourself in the city’s multicultural crowd, perhaps have yourself an aperitivo or visit one the many theatres that can be found in the centre of Milan. And if you ever get tired of Italian food, you will find many a restaurant with all sorts of specialties from the four corners of the world - Japanese, Thai, Chinese, Vietnamese, Indian, Ethiopian or whatever else you’re dreaming about. If you’re passionate about Art, Milan has much to offer you as well: don’t miss the museums and temporary exhibits like the ones held periodically at the Triennale di Milano or at the Palazzo della Ragione (mainly photography exhibits).
Getting to Milan from Malpensa Airport is very easy: you will just need to enter the freeway that runs right next to it, then get into highway A8 and straight to Milan. It will take you about 40 minutes to get to western or northern Milan, just a little longer for the city centre. When exiting the highway, you may find it easier to make your way through the hustle and bustle of Milan streets with the help of a sat-nav: ask us if you can get one for your car upon arrival so that you may save on your smartphone’s international roaming bytes.
The old town centre is placed in a restricted traffic area called Area C, but you can still get there by car by paying a daily or weekly ticket which will grant you unlimited access to all streets at any hour of the night or day. If you forget to pay the ticket in advance you can buy it online within 7 days from the date of your first Area C access: ask us more about it when renting your car at Malpensa airport. Don’t worry about parking too: there are many parking areas right next to the city’s main points of interest, so you can walk all you like without having to worry about heavy bags and luggage.
Milan Malpensa airport has a key position that allows travellers to get not only to Milan, but also to many other destinations in less or slightly more than a hour drive. Depending on the time you can spare, you may choose to visit any of these places by car; here’s some examples of the destinations you can choose within a range of:
