During the rental

When you rent a vehicle with Locauto, you can choose to add several protection services to travel with greater peace of mind.

If you have purchased Glass&Wheels service, you will not be responsible for any damage to your windows, including the glass roof, headlights, turn signals, wheels, tires, and rims. With Body Protection service, on the other hand, you won’t have to worry about damage to the vehicle’s exterior bodywork. If you have chosen Super Theft Protection, you will be relieved of all liability in the event of theft, whether total or partial, or damage resulting from attempted theft.

By opting for the Smart Cover package, you eliminate any economic participation in damages covered by Body Protection, Super Theft Protection and Glass&Wheels. With Don’t Worry or Deluxe, the protection is even more comprehensive, as you will not be liable for any damages. However, in the event of theft or attempted theft in the Campania and Puglia regions, a specific amount indicated in the Special Rental Terms and Conditions remains your responsibility.

If you have added Accident Protection (PAI), you are covered by insurance that protects you in the event of an accident while driving. In case of injury or death, compensation up to a maximum of 100,000 euros is provided. In addition, with RSP (Extended Roadside Assistance) service, towing your vehicle will be free of charge in the event of a breakdown or accident. Assistance is guaranteed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and you can contact it at +39 0243020450 both from Italy and abroad.

If you have rented a commercial vehicle, you can activate SecurVan, which reduces your economic participation in damages and resets liability in case of theft or attempted theft. With SecurLoad, on the other hand, you are exempt from the cost of any damage to load compartment panels. For total protection, the SuperSecurVan service completely eliminates all economic liability.

Again, for thefts or attempted thefts occurring in Campania and Puglia, a specific amount remains payable by you, as indicated in the Special Rental Terms and Conditions.

If you need to return the vehicle later than the date and time specified in the contract, you will need to contact the pickup branch directly. Please note that the rental rate is calculated on a daily basis, so any delays will result in an extra day being charged.

For daily, weekly, and monthly rentals, there is a 59-minute tolerance from pickup time. If you have purchased the Stress-Free Drop-Off (Hourly Tolerance) service, you will have 2 additional hours of flexibility before an extra day’s charge is applied.

For hourly rates, however, the maximum tolerance is 10 minutes. Beyond this limit, the daily rate will be automatically applied.

If you wish to change the drop-off office from what is stated in the contract, you will need to contact the pick-up office to notify them of the change. Returning the vehicle to a different office than the pickup office will incur an additional charge, called ‘Trip to Drop Off,’ the specific amount of which is stated in the Special Rental Terms and Conditions.

If your vehicle is damaged, it is essential that you notify us immediately, communicating the nature and extent of the damage. In the case of a claim with a counterparty, you should report it by e-mail to the collection office within 24 hours, providing full details of the accident, the license plate of the vehicle involved and the details of the counterparty’s insurance company.

In the vehicle you will find a C.A.I. form in the glove box, which must be filled out in its entirety. We ask that you send us the completed form along with photographic documentation within 48 hours of the event.

In case the relevant authorities (such as Traffic Police, Municipal Police, Carabinieri, etc.) have intervened, we ask you to provide us with a copy of the accident report.

Roadside assistance is always available both in Italy and abroad by calling +39 0243020450. If you did not include RSP (Extended Roadside Assistance) at the time of rental, you will be responsible for towing costs.

If the AdBlue warning light comes on, you can refill at any gas station, remembering to notify the pick-up branch. Keep your receipt or invoice made out to Locauto Rent, with “AdBlue” listed on it, so you can request a refund when you return the vehicle.

If you have a flat tire during your rental, contactRoadside Assistance immediately at +39 0243020450 for support. We also recommend that you notify the vehicle pickup location for faster and more effective handling of the situation.

In the event of warning lights, immediately contact the office from which you picked up your vehicle and they will provide you with all the directions on how to proceed.

We ask that you return the rented vehicle in a properly clean condition. If the vehicle is excessively dirty, either inside or outside, special cleaning may be required. In this case, a penalty would be charged, the amount of which is specified in the Special Rental Terms and Conditions.

To ensure the safety of your vehicle and personal belongings, it is important to avoid leaving visible objects inside your vehicle. Always remove any personal effects or valuables before parking. Also, try to park as much as possible in secure areas, such as guarded parking lots or in well-lit, busy areas where the vehicle is most protected and in a visible location to reduce the risk of theft.
