LOCAUTO ON TOUR (1st edition): on the road to safe driving

4 road safety education talks with Locauto

LOCAUTO ON TOUR was a four-stage journey through Italy, touching on some of the Italian cities and provinces where we are present with our rental offices: Lecce, Parma, Frosinone and Ancona.

The goal of the initiative was to engage citizens, students, institutions and local media to raise awareness of good driving practices and road safety.

For the occasion, we conducted research in collaboration with YouGov on a national sample of 1,000 respondents: the survey included in-depth surveys in the four cities involved to examine drivers’ behaviors and knowledge.
The events featured our participation along with local guests, institutions, experts, and a moderator, who led the talks by facilitating discussion in the panels.

Four stages, each in a different city and with a specific theme

The research in collaboration with YouGov found that:

  • 74% of Italian drivers say they need to brush up on some road rules
  • 31% of drivers take alcoholic beverages before driving
  • 16% of drivers take drugs before driving
  • 30% of drivers do not know the limits that new drivers must adhere to (engine capacity, limits, blood alcohol content)
  • 12% of drivers get distracted when driving
  • 12% of drivers and passengers do not buckle up
  • 57% of drivers would not contact authorities in the event of a traffic accident even if necessary
  • 43% of drivers would not assist people involved in a traffic accident if they witnessed it

Through direct interaction with local communities, citizens and all stakeholders and relevant authorities. we can spread a deep understanding of traffic laws, educating on the issue of safety, promoting sustainability and social responsibility in different local communities.
