LAV & LOCAUTO together #fromthepartyofanimals.
November 9, 2021. Lav and Locauto are celebrating two years of collaboration on the side of animals and those who care for them: a journey that began in 2019, which has gone through a dramatic 2020, until today, putting in place initiatives and actions dedicated to four-legged animals, with the extra gear offered by the availability of free vehicles for animal aid and rescue activities, carried out by volunteers and the LAV Emergency Unit.
THE MAIN STAGES OF THE COLLABORATION
Compiled by LAV and produced in collaboration with Locauto as part of the #BAUTHEWAY initiative, the “4 Paws on Board” guide was distributed at Locauto rental offices throughout Italy, and included in the kit the company provides to customers who wish to travel with their four-legged friends.
In the midst of the pandemic, 6 cars, with the LAV and Locauto logos, were made available free of charge to the LAV Offices in Bologna, Oltrepò Pavese, Cagliari, Bari, Vibo Valentia and Siracusa, for the duration of a month, used for interventions dedicated to the care and rescue of animals, food distributions, and in any case of need.
Alongside LAV in the fire emergency in Sardinia, Locauto immediately offered its contribution by providing two vans free of charge that were used in rescue activities and to help facilities in the area, such as shelters and catteries affected by the fires.
The and activities of the “Identified and Protected” tour, through which nearly 200 dogs were microchipped in various Sicilian municipalities, also benefited from a vehicle provided free of charge by Locauto.
“In these two years, thanks to Locauto’s contribution, we have been able to raise people’s awareness of proper travel management with their four-legged friends and to be even closer to the animals in dramatic moments, such as the outbreak of the Covid emergency, or this summer’s devastating fires in Sardinia. But that’s not all: on the occasion of specific initiatives, we have been able to make the presence of our volunteers on the territory even more capillary and effective, being close to the animals and the people who dedicate care, affection, and energy to them, and who precisely in these years have gone through particular difficulties – comments Gianluca Felicetti, LAV President, and adds – thanks to Locauto we have had an extra gear, all over Italy. We hope to be able to put in place new initiatives, animated by the same passion and sensitivity for animals, which have already pushed us to activate together where we needed it most.”
“We are proud to be able to be at LAV’s side in activities to safeguard and protect our four-legged friends,” says Raffaella Tavazza, Locauto vice president and CEO, “throughout Italy. A partnership that, between health and environmental emergencies, has gone through two challenging years, in which we have supported with Locauto vehicles, the many volunteers who daily devote time and energy in rescue activities. With LAV we share values and a path that will lead us again to travel together.”
The collaboration between LAV and Locauto, in fact, is a sign of a unity of purpose aimed at continuing, intercepting the sensitivity and needs of millions of citizens, for whom animals are now full members of their families.
