Yougov Search for Locauto
As part of the Locauto on tour project, a second survey was conducted in collaboration with YouGov on a national sample of 1,000 adult respondents (+18) which showed that:
- 71% of Italian drivers say they need to brush up on some road rules
- 14% of drivers take drugs before driving
- 32% of drivers take alcoholic beverages before driving
- 46% of drivers admit to using their cell phones even while the vehicle is in motion
- 15% of drivers do not routinely use seat belts
- 59% of drivers would not contact authorities in the event of a traffic accident even if necessary
- 23% of drivers have no idea about the penalties in the New Highway Code in reference to alcohol and drugs
- 23% get distracted when driving
- 35% of drivers do not know the limits that new drivers must adhere to (engine capacity, limits, blood alcohol content)
- 46% of drivers have not assisted or would not assist those involved in a traffic accident if they witnessed it
